I was fine on the 24th of November, Michael.
And I'm fine today as well.

I had some delicious dinner just earlier, leftovers from one roommate and honey-soy chicken with rice, that I helped another roommate make. Now I'm going to study a bit for a presentation I have to give tomorrow on Postmodernism and then I'm going out with a friend from university. Tomorrow is the university's 599th birthday so no classes are mandatory. I'm going to get up late and go to brainstorm with Leslie during a couple of lectures that aren't taking place tomorrow. Do you know about YTD?

It is shocking. I think most students in the schools I visited had it: Read for yourself: http://www.theonion.com/content/node/28223/print/

I don't usually share stuff from issues that are not directly related in this kind of settings, but I feel what is happening in the Middle East these days is absolutely outrageous, I'm really affected and I just cannot stand still. So, I'll forward this petition that 91000 people have already signed. 250000 signatures are meant to be collected to be sent to the UN.

I just finished studying for my first exam of the semester, which takes place tomorrow morning. I've been extremely busy lately with university but things will slowly improve starting tomorrow, and in a week and two days it will be semester break at last! I can't wait, there are so many things I haven't had the time for, it's really been a long time since I last had abundant free time.

Good for you! Smiley

In 2 weeks time I will be in the clear to. I am really tired now and wondering how my body and mind will react after all this stress.
But in 2 weeks time my final teacher training practice is over, and some other hard work like semester assignments that I really need to finish because they have been delayed for month now. Puuuh Undecided

Hope to see all of you in Poland this summer!

The test this morning went well. I was amazed at what a sudden and total physiological change came along with it. I had been so stressed the last couple weeks about this one little exam, and now that stress just disappeared... I can imagine for you the effect will be much more dramatic.
I remember when I finished my last end-of-high-school exams two years ago, after three-four years of studying and testing... Such an unbelievable feeling of freedom...

Hang on in there, Rikke. Smiley

Thanks!

I just had an evaluation yesterday with the state school teacher I am with these weeks. That went really well. Funny how much she talked about my calm personality and not at all about didactics and my teaching.  Huh

Nice for you that it went well with the test!

Olala

It is so diffcult to find people who think they do have time to help with our initiative to start the democratic school here...

We are 2 hardliners now, me and a guy who has little time and others are interessted but never want to also help or even meet us because THEY ALL HAVE NO TIME TO SPARE....

So things are going slowly, slowly, slowly....I almost fall asleep...............grrrrrrrrrrrrr

Well this is what happens, I know the feeling!

I feel very much the same here in Denmark. We just had 2 parents leaving our group with their 2 kids.
But what the hell! They were trying to change the basic in this project, so somehow it feels very good that they left.
Michael once said that such a project, starting up a democratic school, really needs some proactive people, hopefully we will meet some along the way! Wink That’s what got Eudec started, a few very active and stubborn people and then we grew into a big bunch of people.

Yes, one has to accept the fact that there will rarely be enough people in the startup phase who are truly as active as you need them to be. This seems to be the same in every group. There will usually be a very small group that are putting their everything into making things happen, and then hopefully a few more people who hang around them and at least try to help. But if you're waiting for more people to become core activists, well, you migth want to think about how you can do it without them.

Right, thanks for your replies! We are not going to wait, we are just doing step by step what we can do and in the end we'll have our school.... Grin
