Schools and start-up groups

Find information about members' schools that run in a democratic way or start up groups working hard to get a democratic school in their country.

EUDEC estimates that there are more than 70 democratic schools in Europe and hundreds more that are striving to maximise student voice and self-directed learning, on their way to being democratic schools.

Schools join EUDEC to connect with other schools and promote democratic education in Europe. The community gives students, teachers and families many opportunities to meet and share experiences: such as annual meetings, conferences, the student and teacher exchange programme and school partnerships.

EUDEC currently has 52 Member Schools in 17 countries, find out more.

There are also Other Schools of Interest and organisations that work in a democratic way or strive to work in a more democratic way. Or they want to give their support to democratic education in general.
